Tengboche Trek must be one of the most beautiful treks in the world. The height is well over 12,000 feet. The Monastery buildings stand upon a knoll at the end of a big spur, which is flung out across the direct axis of the Imja River. Surrounded by satellite dwellings, all quaintly constructed and oddly medieval in appearance, it provides a grandstand beyond comparison for the finest mountain scenery that you have ever seen, whether in the Himalaya or elsewhere.” Such is its glory! The Monastery, aptly considered the gateway to the Mount Everest, will hypnotize you with its aesthetically rich interior and external profundity. You can pray and receive the blessings from the monks as every climber and trekker, lodging or passing by, does for their safety and health.

The village, you would be intrigued be to discover, is reported to have only fifty permanent monks and five permanent families, and it is to the North-East of Kathmandu located on a hill at the meeting point of the Imja Khola and the Dudh Koshi rivers, inhabited by the Sherpas.

The Tengboche Trek, beginning from Luka, Namche, will take you through amazing regions with picturesque peaks in their backdrops. The trail crosses the Dudh Koshi River leading to the Tengboche Monastery.

Last but not least, you might, by serendipity, be overwhelmed with spiritual and cultural ambiance if you happen to be here during Mani Rimdu–one of the most important Buddhist festivals observed for five days with utmost devotion usually in the month of November, in the course of which you will be able to rejoice religious acts, dances, plays, prayers, and feasts.

The festival is truly vibrant, and it can be your stupendous experience! All in all, unlike other treks, it is a trek par excellence in a sense that it is an exceptional fusion of culture, nature, and religion– a minimalist way of life of Sherpas, Lamas and Monks in the lap of the Himalayas and their Buddhist rituals will be an immense experience.

Gokyo Lake Trek, Also known by other names as the Gokyo Ri Trek and the Gokyo Valley Trek in the Everest region. it begins from Lukla after a flight from Kathmandu. Thereafter, you will be led to a beautiful small market town Namche Bazaar which is famous for its local products, especially homemade cheese and butter from yaks.

You can also find daily essentials as well as trekking and expedition equipment. With this, the Gokyo trek starts getting more exciting revealing its extravagance to you. Though the trail initially coincides with that of the Everest Base Camp Trek, later it splits taking you to the Gokyo Lake. Residing in the Khumbu region, the Gokyo Valley is incontrovertibly beautiful and beguiling cocktail natural opulence—dainty and delightful villages, lovely lakes, gorgeous glaciers.

The Gokyo Ri peak and the Ngozumpa glacier are a couple of major attractions in cutthroat with the Gokyo Lake.
In the Gokyo Valley, the villages are some of the highest settlements in Nepal at an elevation of 4750 m.
Strange but true—nearly all the buildings are the guest houses for the trekkers. And the Gokyo Lakes, situated in the Sagarmatha National Park, constitute one of the the world’s highest freshwater lake systems.

These glossy and glassy lakes will fill you awe with their brilliantly blue and turquoise appearance. Spread over an area of 485 acres, the Gokyo Lake system comprises of 19 lakes lying between 4600 m and 5100 m.

On the way, the first lake you will be greeted by is the Longpongo at an altitude of 4690 m, followed by the second, the Taboche Tsho whose aquamarine visual will effortlessly allure you. The series of lakes will keep pleasing you.

On top of that, the views of the Mt. Everest, the Mt. Makalu, the Mt. Lhotse, and the Mt. Cho Oyu, which are over 8000 m, can easily give you goosebumps. In addition, the other contenders, like Ama Dblam, the Thamserku won’t lag behind to bewitch you.

One you ascend atop the Gokyo Ri at 5357 m, you can have a close magical view of the Mt. Everest. What’s more, the view of the 27 different snow-capped peaks will be extraordinarily thrilling. An advantage of this trek over the Everest Base Camp Trek is that it is easier and less crowded.

Apart from its natural grandeur, the cultural and religious elements are pervasive for all the good reasons. The region is special for the Hindus and the Buddhists alike—there are not only the monasteries but also the temples of the Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.
Hence, people here honest, kind and treat guests as gods. Their goodwill and grace will apparently be the best of the things you will fall for.
There is a lot you will discover during the trek. The Gokyo Valley is eagerly awaiting you, and so are we to help you with this.

It may not be possible for each person to summit the world’s tallest mountain the Mount Everest, but each must be wishing to reach at least to Everest base camp. Trek to Everest base camp rank in 1st in the world for trekking destination list. Who wouldn’t want! Such is its grandeur.

It is obvious for travelers to wonder to know the height of Mount Everest and the elevation of Everest base camp.
Mount Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most popular trekking routes in the world. Trekkers from all over the world come to Nepal for the Everest trek which is located in the Everest region.

And it does not take much—one can make it at a certain point in one’s life. It is absolutely worthwhile. Everest Base Camp tour is not merely about the Everest base; in fact, the route itself is grand. Once you reach Lukla by airplane, you can set off on foot from there traversing the varied landscapes—meadows, lush green pastures, steep hills, forests, arid land and many more.

Walking along the Dudh Koshi river, you will be enthused for oncoming excitements. In addition, the forests of rhododendron and magnolia will sweep you in surpassing serenity with its bracing breeze and dulcet rustlings.

They will add to your unremitting adventure and thrill. From Kala Patthar, you will have overpoweringly grand views of the Mt. Everest, the Lhotse, the Cho-Oyu, the Nuptse, the Pumori, the Ama-dablam, the Thamserku and others.
They can rouse one’s dullest of the senses.

The trek along the Khumbu Glaciers that lead to the Everest Base Camp is not less tranquil. It is pleasing and striking par excellence. The Sagarmatha National Park harbors exotic snow leopard and red panda among many others. Pastures, yak farms, and rustic rural set up on the way appear aesthetically pure. They will fill you with a sense of simplicity and warmth.

Furthermore, the region is culturally distinct and rich—a conventional lifestyle of the Sherpas, their arts and architecture and the Buddhist rituals constitute a different world in themselves. The people are equally rich in their hospitality.

They are simple and cordial. They are truly adorable people whose affection will keep you want coming back.

It can be your timeless experience, just make an effort to reach us. We will help you further ahead.

It is obviously quite a long route for the Everest Base Camp Trek, but hugely popular, and once you get to walk it, you will understand why so.

The route is upliftingly amazing, not just because it was used by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa to reach to the Mount Everest while summiting for the first time, but also for its uniquely breathtaking terrain.

There is an alternative route beginning from Lukla reducing the duration and distance by almost half, but so gets shortened the adventure.

This Everest base camp trek -28 has its extra significance in getting to Jiri by bus which delivers you a kaleidoscopic view of quintessential Nepal, its magnificence.

Jiri, itself a touristic region, and called the “Gateway to the Mt. Everest”, is about 190 km from Kathmandu. Only 5% of the trekkers striving to get to the Everest Base Camp start from Jiri, so it impressively makes you a daring among a handful! The route from Jiri evidently makes it a ‘classic route’. By the way, the attractions of Jiri are Cherdung, Kalo Veer and Ramete Danda; they are the spots from where one can have vivacious views of extensive landscapes and mountain range.

Trekking all the way from Jiri through route traversing varied terrain, you will reach your next major center of attraction, the Sagarmatha National Park at an altitude of 5000 m; it is where 19 different lakes in the Gokyo Lake System spread over an area of 485 acres imbue the region with transcendentally pristine and pure ambiance.

It will fill ethereal. It is stupefyingly the world’s highest freshwater lake system. The Gokyo Cho, also known as the Dudh Pokhari, is the main lake in the system, however, the largest lake is the Thonak Cho.

These glacier-fed lakes have not only ecological importance, but also religious—they are considered holy by the Buddhists and the Hindus alike.

During the Janai Purnima, a Hindu festival, the region gets thronged with the Hindu devotees. It is believed that the Naag Devata resides here. Also, it has temples of the Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.

All this makes this place all the more interesting. The national park is home to exotic birds and animals, and some rare species, like red panda and snow leopard. You might luckily get their glimpse.

Wait, the stunner is not over yet! You will climb the Gokyo Ri and the Cho La before getting to the Base Camp. From the peaks, you will have a mesmerizing view of the Everest, the Cho Oyu, and the Makalu. Onwards, it keeps getting more thrilling, more adventurous.

It will be a climactic experience to view the mammoth Mt. Everest from Kala Patthar at 5545 m from where you can have the most accessible closeup view of the Everest.

In addition to it, from here, you can also have a magical view of the Nuptse and the Changtse, and the glimpses of the Northern flank and the summit of the Lhotse will further uplift you.

It is paradisiac, and you surely would want to be part of it. So would we! Let’s do it together

It is virtually everyone’s dream to have the best possible view of the magnificent Mt. Everest, whatever the effort, but some want to have the best with less effort. Thus, it is for the latter type, because once the Gokyo Ri, which is at the same altitude as that of the Everest Base Camp, is ascended, one can have such view of the tallest natural structure clad in snow.
Indeed, there are added adventures and thrills in trekking up to the base camp; nevertheless, even up to the Gokyo Lake with the trailhead from Jiri is superb. It will serve you with a beautiful blend of nature and culture.

The trek sets forth from Jiri. After about an 8-hour drive, you will reach there, and this 8-hour drive will be a fast-paced thriller, as you will be driven past varied landscapes and diversified way of life.

You will swiftly find people changing from one village to another in their dresses, the way their houses are built, the activities they are involved in, and so forth including climate. You will truly adore all the dynamics.

In fact, there is another route from Lukla to Gokyo Lake; it is less strenuous and shortened by almost a week, but obviously, you happen to miss that equivalent thrill. Thus, if you have enough time, it is advised to set off from Jiri.

Wait, the stunner is not over yet! You will climb the Gokyo Ri from where you’ll have that majestic view of the Mt. Everest!

This trek has much more to offer than mentioned above. In fact, the vehemence it offers cannot be rightly and completely expressed in words. It will reveal itself directly to your senses.

The Gokyo Everest Base Camp Trek is fantastically splendid, as it is a rich package of natural, cultural, and spiritual delights. It, also popular as the Everest Circuit Trek, of Everest Region, walks you through Namche Bazar, the Sagarmatha National Park, the Gokyo Lake System, the Gokyo Ri, the Cho La pass, the Kala Patthar.

These are supposedly the major sites, but the trek is not merely about these. In fact, there are a plethora of surreal sites and beguiling beauties. Walking along the banks the Dudh Koshi River, whose source is the Gokyo Lake, is a pure pleasure.

Moreover, your visit to the Tengboche Monastery will rouse you spiritually. The Khumbu Icefall and the Khumbu Glacier are strikingly picturesque.

The Everest base camp trek begins after you land to Lukla from Kathmandu. Thereafter, you will trek to Namche Bazar—a beautiful town within the Khumbu region at 3440 m, to where the most Sherpas in the tourism business belong. Namche Bazar, the gateway to the high Himalaya, is popular for altitude acclimatization.

The dainty town has enough lodgings and stores catering to the need of tourists. It has some plush bakeries and cafes. Moreover, you would love to have popular local yak steak. From there, you will, instead of taking the ‘classic route’, move up towards the Gokyo Lake in the Sagarmatha National Park at an altitude of 5000 m.

It is where 19 different lakes in the Gokyo Lake System spread over an area of 485 acres imbue the region with transcendentally pristine and pure ambiance. It will fill ethereal.

The national park is home to exotic birds and animals, and some rare species, like red panda and snow leopard. You might luckily get their glimpse.

It will be a climactic experience to view the mammoth Mt. Everest from Kala Patthar at 5545 m from where you can have the most accessible closeup view of the Everest.

Since it is a circuit trek, you will not be retracing your path for major part of the trek which will offer you an added benefit of everything from natural to cultural.

It won’t be an overstatement to state that the Gokyo Ri / Lake Trek is preternaturally beautiful. Why? Its beauty is ineffable, however, we will try to list a few supposedly major attractions. In short, consider the dainty town Namche Bazar, placid peacock-blue Gokyo lakes, Nepal’s largest glacier the Ngozumpa glacier, and exotic view of the gigantic snow capped Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse and Makalu from the top of the Gokyo Ri at 5357 m, you will be spellbound your entire life!

You will fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, and from there, you will embark on the enticing trek. From Lukla, you will walk the usual the Khumbu Trekking route up until Kyangjuma near Namche Bazar–a shopping hub for tourists with fancy cafes and lodges will be your acclimatization spot.

After acclimatization session, you will follow the trail leading to pleasant Mongla Danda from where you can have fascinating views of Mt. Ama dablam and Imza valley. Thereafter, the trek up until the Gokyo Lake will take you through culturally rich traditional Sherpa villages, like Dole, and Machchermo. Peaceful and pleasant pastoral villages will be quite refreshing.

When you eventually start running into a series of lakes, in fact, 19 different lakes that constitute the Gokyo Lake System, you cannot control your paroxysm of elation—everything there is quite paradisiac, and your feelings will be pretty climactic.

The lakes are appealingly aquamarine. On top of that, the region has a temple of the Hindu gods, Vishnu and Shiva. Also, the snake god Nag Devata is believed to reside there. In addition to this, it is also a sacred site for Buddhists.

Finally, ascending the Gokyo Ri at 5357 m will be your quite an immense achievement. From there, you will have a panoramic view of the peaks, like the Mt. Everest, the Cho Oyu, the Lhotse, and the Makalu par excellence.

The trek will be your lifetime accomplishment—something to smile over, something to be proud of in later life.

The Pikey Peak Trek is moderately strenuous, but massively magnificent, and relatively short, but spectacularly royal—royal in a sense that the heavenly views of the Himalayas from the Pikey Peak hilltop are unparalleled; furthermore, the sunrise and the sunset are sheerly sublime.

The next important point to mention would be pikey peak trek difficulty: it is an easy trek, so much so that, anybody, even beginners, with a healthy physique and an urge to trek can complete it. Thus, though Pikey peak trek location is in the lower Khumbu region, is quite new, it has become pretty popular, and not just because it is easy, but also because of the unmatched views of the landscapes of and the soaring mountains.

The adored-for-sunrise-sunset Pikey Peak (4065 m) has an intriguing origin of its name—it is derived from the name of a Sherpa clan deity, Chyabo Pikey which is especially worshiped in the month of July.

Luckily, such an amazing region, to describe general Pikey peak trek itinerary, is not far from Kathmandu—after about an 8-hour drive, which itself will be quite thrilling, you will reach Jiri, the place from where the trekking sets forth. Thereupon, you will walk your way across some beautiful small villages that you will find culturally quaint with innocent and expansive people. You will instantly fall in love with them. The tea houses run by the local citizens may not be as luxurious as fancy lodges, but they are adored and preferred for the warmth and affection received there.

A beautiful aspect of the trek is the landscapes and the natural resources are not monotonous—they keep changing, and obviously, you will be led through lush forests of rhododendrons, pines, firs, magnolias. It will be refreshing.

Inevitable to mention:

The solidarity projects, funded by Association for Development of Nepal (ADN) located in Chartres, France in association with the Evasion Trekking and Kathmandu Heritage Tour, Nepal, have been helping develop Merangding, Angpang and Pattale villages.
Thus, please, do join this trek for the solidarity and for what you want out of this trek. We are at your service.
