To make your life more meaningful and exciting, you, once in a while, have to do something bigger beyond your daily survival. It is necessary that you submit yourself to something of gigantic scale to which you feel yourself an integral part. Nature and its wilderness stretching high like mountains, low like deep gorges, and expanding landscapes with forests, passes and hills is the magic you should turn to. To this purpose comes the Everest Region, one of the most adored trekking regions of Nepal. It is the home to the Mt. Everest with an altitude of 8,848m, the highest mountain in the world.
The region, in the eastern part of Nepal in the Solukhumbu district, offers the breathtaking views of the several snow-capped peaks, beautiful landscapes, Buddhist monasteries and idyllic Sherpa villages. Moreover, the region lies inside the Sagarmatha National Park which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park makes the region all the more appealing, since you will be walking through forests with exotic flora and fauna. The landscape is largely composed of rugged terrain and gorges of the high Himalayas. Besides the Mt. Everest, other peaks adding to the beauty of the region are the Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Thamserku, Nuptse, Amadabalam and Pumori.
Lower zone is forested with birch, juniper, blue pines, firs, bamboo and rhododendron whereas the upper is with shrubs, and further increase in altitude gives life merely to lichens and mosses. You will be delighted to view birds like Himalayan monal, blood pheasant, red-billed chough, and yellow-billed chough. Furthermore, it is home to rare mammal species like musk deer, snow leopard, Himalayan black bear and red panda. Himalayan thars, langur monkeys, martens and Himalayan wolves are also found in the park.
The Everest Region is equally popular for expedition and mountain climbing. In addition, traditional Sherpa villages like Dingboche, Lobuche, Thame, Phakding and Monjo make the trekking more lively and joyous.
Tengboche must be one of the most beautiful places in the world. The height is well over 12,000 feet. The Monastery buildings…
