Man is supposed to travel a lot, and see and experience the diverse culture and natural landscapes. It is how one discovers oneself. It is how one learns one’s limitations and strengths. Moreover, it makes a man better human putting him/her through various culture, climate, and nature. But human beings are always pressed for time and money; one cannot simply go on traveling all his/her life, so a destination should be chosen so that it is culturally and naturally rich. Nepal is one such country. Specifically, the Central region, also known as Langtang. Langtang trek is one such which is opulent with Tibetan culture, and naturally magnificent with slow-moving rivers, plain forests, swift mountain streams, and snow-capped peaks.
Langtang is a narrow valley situated 19 miles north of Kathmandu along the border of Tibet. The valley, which lies within the Langtang National Park, together with the high mountain lakes of Gosainkunda and the lower Helambu Valley bears a beautifully unique trekking route. The trek takes you not only through farmland and villages, but also you will be hugely delighted to view the deep gorges of the Bhote Koshi and the Langtang Khola in vibrant rhododendron, oak, maple, and alder. On top of that, to your surprise, you might find a rare deciduous conifer larch in lower Langtang forests.
In addition, the forests around Ghoda Tabela are inhabited by wildlife like wild boar, grey langur, ghoral, Himalayan black bear, leopard, and endangered Red panda. And higher altitudes are home to musk deer, cat, and the snow leopard.
Dhunche, Bharku, and Shyabrubesi are pre-dominated by the Tamang people while the upper Langtang is peopled by the Tibetan ancestry. The people are almost exclusively Buddhists, and they herd yaks and sheep for livelihood. You will love their favorite meal Shyakpa. It is a mixed vegetable soup dish. Kyanjin Gompa and Yala Cheese Factory will be worth your visit. The pastures of Langsisa and beyond will highly amaze you.
