Nepal is certainly one of the best choices for sightseeing; its natural, as well as cultural diversity, is lauded unanimously across the world by those who have seen it at least once. Majorly being a Himalayan nation, it can easily stupefy you with its wilderness. Eight soaring mountains over 8,000 meters located here including world highest Mount Everest and there are several other majestic snowcapped mountains.

You can obviously expect swift-flowing rivers, lakes, waterfalls, glaciers, hills, and passes. It is way wild. Yet, it doesn’t say much about the country’s art, architecture, history, religion, faith, culture, and tradition. For this, you have to turn to its historical monuments, religious sites, cultural heritage, and traditional activities. Nepal’s opulence is far-reaching in this matter.

It is an inviting country for sightseeing. And Kathmandu, the capital and largest city in Nepal, takes the foremost position regarding this. It has a plethora of temples and monasteries. Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, Thamel, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Garden Dreams, Kumari Bahal, Hanuman Dhoka, Narayanhiti Palace, Budhanilkantha Temple, Kopan Monastery, Taudaha Lake, Phulchowki, Seto Gomba, Botanical Garden, Akasha Bhairava Temple, Seto Machhindranath Temple, and Tribhuvan Museum are some of the best places to visit. All these places and monuments have historical and cultural significance. Temples, monasteries, and all the other monuments are aesthetic and artistic. They are intricately hand-carved. The carvings appear dainty and delicate. Their architecture is distinctive.

Likewise, two other cities, Patan and Bhaktapur, have various magnificent monuments and temples. Patan Durbar Square, Patan Museum, Uku Bahal, Sundari Chowk, Rato Machhindranath Temple, and the like make Patan a perfect city for sightseeing. What’s more, the 55-window Palace of Bhaktapur will leave you bewitched with its intricate hand carvings. And the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will leave you in wonder. Nyatapol Temple and Bhairavanath Temple are other magnificence.

For the purpose of sightseeing, there are other important places beyond the valley. Pokhara is a beautiful city at the base of the foothills surrounded by towering mountains like Dhaulagiri, Manasalu, and Annapurna I. It is the gateway to Jomsom and Annapurna region. The city is well-known for Phewa Lake. Its other attractions are Shanti Stupa, Davis Falls, Sarangkot, and Gupteshwor Mahadev Temple. You will find this city way different from Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur. It has its own grandeur, style, and charm.

In the plain region of Nepal, Terai, the Chitwan National Park and Bardia National Park will expose their wildlife. And, Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha will amaze you with its historical monuments.
